Ok, even if it is not the world's largest petrified log....it is really big!!!
They have lots of items for sale, so if you want to buy a piece of petrified wood, they have it!!!

This place is so cute! We looked at a room that they were cleaning, and it was cute. If you love Route 66, then you should stay here. They have the classic cars parked out front and everything! SO CUTE!!!!

Small statue of a dinosaur that my son felt compelled to take a picture with. It looked like they were dancing! Very cute!

The Petrified Forest was absolutely beautiful, but we were expecting to see petrified wood and there was not much of it. You see it at every gas station, rock store, and landmark, but not in the forest! It upset my family a little, so we asked the store manager if people were going into the forest with pick-ups and stealing the trees. He said that there was actually more petrified wood found on private property than on the reserve. I was relieved to know that the reserve was safe. Have fun!

It is so amazing to me, how beautiful this country really is!
We stopped by and bought a park passport, so we could keep track of all the National Park we were going to. Fun for the family!
If you don't have an America the Beautiful pass you need one!!!
It gets you into all the National Parks for a year!
Do some research, if you need more information about what is included. We have used it so much and seen so many things! It is a great value for a family who wants to see the United States!

This place was totally awesome! If it is hot, do the volcano first, so you can go down to the ice cave to get cool (cold) after you have hiked up the volcano. Don't forget to take a water and walking shoes! Lava rock is not easy to walk in. History about this place is very interesting...when you are buying tickets ask them about the history and make sure to pick up a map that explains the numbered areas. Have fun...We did!!!

The views were amazing, but you need to make sure where you are going!
Several address are incorrect, and cell service is not reliable... so make sure you know where you are going and bring a map (yes, old school map)! just so you can find your way around when your GPS gets you lost! Ha-Ha!!
