Beautiful drive through the Badlands. I really felt like we did not miss anything and that we got to see all that they Badlands had to offer. Tons of pull off areas to take pictures.

This was an informative little boardwalk trail that had lots of plaques with information about the fossils in the area. Prefect for kids!

Really fun trail. We had a shoulder carrier for our 2 year old which allowed us to climb up the ladder. If you are scared of heights I would not recommend. After you climb the ladder the trail goes on for a ways and you get some pretty great sights.

Fun little stop on the way into the badlands. The prairie dogs were cute and defiantly not scared of people. We had to keep a close eye on our 2 year old so she would step into a prairie dog hole. We did end up getting her a stuffed prairie dog in the store since she was good about not scaring them. Stock up on water especially if you are going to hike in the badlands.

I was very disappointed by this stop. It was just some buildings that looked cool back in the day but are now run down, crumbling and falling apart. The props from the film Dances with Wolves might have been the highlight of the whole stop. However, it was a nice place to get out and wander around.

WOW! It was breathtaking! The statue itself was way bigger than I anticipated and there were even trails you could take down to the water. The welcome center that is by it was very clean and it had a nice little interactive exhibit. Definitely a must a stop.

There were way more statues than I anticipated. I thought we would spend 5 minutes there but we ended up wandering around for 45 min. It was not busy when we went in July and there was ample parking. You do have to pay a meter but it was not expensive.

This was a good stop to get out and stretch our legs. We really enjoyed the trails with the historical markers. Our 2 year old loved the statues especially Lewis's dog Seaman. It was fun to walk around the fort but it would have been better if we had came during one of the reenactment days. The gift shop was not open unfortunately so it was a pretty quick stop.
