Very interesting history, and a pretty campus here in Macon. Who knew? First college for women in the world! Also interesting that it was the home of the first two sororities in the world; and now- no sororities.

This is an excellent museum, remarking a hugely important decision and step forward toward a more perfect union. Inspiring, sad and hopeful all at once - we need to never forget the need to continuously work toward, fight for, and some will even need to die to make our world and our America a better place for all.

We love the Blue Hole! Weave been here several times and always enjoy this very unique little corner of the world. Unfortunately this time they closed it down and made all of us get in our cars due to lightning in the area… Still, it was fun to stop and be reminded of this funny little crack in the earth!

As noted by all, this is a very nice KOA, and they’ve done a nice job to work with local colors, trees, architecture to make it fitting of having Santa Fe in the name. The kids were disappointed not to have a pool, but I don’t think they would have lasted very long in what would likely be a very cold plunge! It was quite pleasantly cool in mid June; a welcome break from our scorching trip through AL, AR, OK and TX!

We really enjoyed adding this to our summer road-trip. We watched Young Guns, studied up a bit on the story and the larger than life characters, and then enjoyed getting the chance to go explore the very small but interesting old cemetery. It may not be worth the diversion from Route 66 if you haven’t sort of built up to it however. 🙂

We love this place! This is the third time we have come through here on a summer road trip, and we are always blown away by how good the food is, and how nice the staff is! We definitely recommend this fun little restaurant.
