Good Clean Standard. We needed a place to stay and this was available at a good price. The room was standard. It was clean and the breakfast (hot) was included. I would stay here again.
Great view! Long Walk. We stopped here because my daughters wanted to. The Twilight movies reference La Push, even though the reference is to first beach we stopped at Third beach since it was on our way. The 1.5 mile hike in was beautiful - I loved it. The wife and daughters were a little put off with the distance and 'unconnectedness'. It was worth the hike. We met several head back in and out who were camping on the site.
We enjoyed the ride! I think it was a bit expensive but EVERYTHING in Chicago is pricey. My family liked having the ability to jump on and off where we chose to stop. Most everything I wanted to see was on the tour. The tour guides vary, if you do not like the one you have hop off, see the site, then hop back on and you will most likely have a different guide.
Family Fun!
I saw this as a kid, now it was my turn to take my daughters! Great Fun! Do not miss the movie about the building of the Arch, it will literally take your breath away when you see the construction workers out on the top without any type of safety equipment. Simply unbelievable!
I remember visiting this site as a kid and wanted to go back. I am a Daniel Boone fan and enjoy the history and the fact that folks once built homes, towns and so much out of the raw land. I am still impressed by the stamina the early Americans had, and am thankful for the sacrifices they made to truly conquer our rugged country. If you enjoy American history, you will enjoy this destination. My kids enjoyed it even though they prefer just watching the "movie" of history rather than walking it.
We watch "Flipper" on Hulu and my girls (8&10) wanted to stop. I asked several of the attendants of the Dolphin Research Center "where is Flipper's grave?" NONE knew! I know they were only in their twenties at most but seriously. It ended up being more fun looking for it on our own - the discovery of the simple grave did not take long. A very cool place if you like dolphins, plan to stay and swim with them. The center has attendants who work with them and will let you get in the pools with them too. Pretty cool.
Loved it! Allow plenty of time not to rush through. My two girls (8 &10), wife and I had a great time.
Great Learning about history in the midst of historical sites. The tour was well worth hearing. My family and I truly enjoyed it.
My family and I love old historic sites like this. This is definitely one of the best for pictures with grand trees.
