It's sad, but this place is permanently closed as of a few years ago. This property was gorgeous. It is missed, dearly.

How can you not support this rad guy's vet-owned, small american business? And its named after a puppy. I'm a fan.

Well, regrettably Donna's is not worth the cost. Drinks and juices are loaded with ice and cost $8-$10. Meals are small portions for $16-$24. Its not fine dining, its not the new American neighborhood place it could be. Staff is nice but rather inattentive. Nothing to write home about.

Here's the thing... this place is crazy neat looking and for the most part you can walk around it. The is a patrol but it's just a skeleton crew for maintenance and while I would not suggest breaking in, if you hid your car you could easily do so and scare yourself. A note on the cemetery: I hunted this cemetery for a while now and couldn't locate it. Then I found an old map - why? Well, this was a mental institution for African American's in the early part of the 1900's and, while it started out benevolent, it quickly became overrun and conditions were nightmarish. 1/3 of the people died. Not from diseases they were addmitted with, no, but from treatment and lack of santitaion and proper care. People were chained to walls and left there - there are pictures online - anyway, the cemetery is located down a long and very creepy farm road but now they've got it blocked off by a government water building or something. The folks were buried without names, only numbers, and the corresponding records are lost. The only way to see the cemetery now is to park (illegally) on the side of hwy 97 and walk up the embankment and hike.

Don't lose hope! They only tore the dilapidated parts down and are now restoring it to its former glory! Just be patient, folks! :)
