Kiki Beware

Snug in its heritage building and surrounded by some of Dunedin’s finest boutique shopping, The Finest Quality, Kiki Beware, Refreshment Room – or just Kiki Beware for short – is a kooky, quirky and modern boutique café that’s quickly become one of Dunedin’s favourite haunts.

A long bar, high retro stools and milkshakes served in an old school tin cup recall a classic American diner, while the walls are adorned with works from some of the creative city’s top artists. Scarf down some of the renowned fried chicken, some poutine, a salmon bagel, fresh-baked treats or a Vietnamese BBQ Pork Baguette (a favourite with locals), or peruse the dedicated and diverse drinks menu to quench your thirst with a coffee, an amazing home-made soda, a local wine, or a tap beer.

Chat to staff at the open kitchen while they rustle up your San Pedro Eggs, do some people-watching among Kiki’s diverse clientele, and then stroll out, to do some browsing in the surrounding George Street shopping precinct, which includes a concentrated cluster of elite fashion boutiques including Plume, Ruby, Slick Willy’s, Belle Bird, Company of Strangers, and many more.
