Middle Rock Farm Tour

Middle Rock Station offers visitors a comprehensive farm tour experience in the scenic Lake Coleridge high country just one hour’s drive west of Christchurch. Bordered by the braided Rakaia River, the property farms over 7,000 sheep producing fine wool for the apparel trade and export lamb for international meat markets.

Recently Middle Rock has also opened The Shearers’ Quarters, farmstay accommodation suitable for families, international visitors, small conference groups and those wishing to enjoy the many recreational opportunities of the Lake Coleridge area. The large garden at Middle Rock, framed by panoramic views of the Mt Hutt range, has also hosted many local and community groups over the years.

Owners, Bruce and Lyn, have farmed Middle Rock since 1973. Recently they have been joined by their daughter, Charlotte and her husband, Vince. The family has enjoyed hosting international guests, farming delegations, conference visitors and local community groups for over 25 years.
