Arts in Oxford

The Arts in Oxford Centre is located in the small, vibrant North Canterbury township of Oxford, a short 40 minute scenic drive from Christchurch. The gallery is operated as a not-for profit charitable trust and its staff are all Volunteers.

The Gallery hosts exhibitions by local, national and overseas artists. The Fine Art gift shop offers a wide range of quality New Zealand artworks including ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, paintings and prints.

The purpose-built gallery and gift shop were opened in 2010; this was made possible by a generous donation and on-going support from the Canterbury Community Trust. The four artists’ workshops will complete our vision to become a fully working Arts Centre. Construction of the first workshop was completed in February 2013, this valuable facility will offer opportunities to participate in courses and allow interaction with artists in residence.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm, except for public holidays, but, please note that for the months of September and October only in 2017, the gallery will be closed on Monday and Tuesday each week.
