“sleep like a panda”
The modern and affordable hotel option is now available in Vancouver. Enjoy a cozy stay at our pod accommodation, connect with worldwide travellers and the city within easy reach. Replacing traditional hotel rooms, we offer modern, affordable and secure sleeping pods. So you can spend more on your trip, not your hotel room. World class food, nature and shopping centers outside our door!
This is not actually a review since I didn't sleep in the Panda Pod. I checked their website and all my "opinions" are based on what I found on the website. That's why actually I'm not going to give any star at all.
I'm pretty sure the pod itself will not bother me. Don't have issues with small space. It's new so I'm assuming that the place is clean - what is most important part when I'm looking for a motel/hotel.
I have only 2, not positive things:
1) As a 250 lbs traveler the part (I know, I'm fat :D ) "... All sleeping pods have a maximum weight capacity of up to 220lb..." actually is first no-no. Hey, people in USA (partially in Canada too) are obese and you have to have that in your consideration - except if you target guests from Japan/China/... Then it's ok.
2) On their website the price is $49 + tax - after promo code?!? Google shows me the price between $81 and $91. Really?!? Why would anyone pay $80-$90 for a pod, w/o breakfast (as a matter of fact you CANNOT have any food in your pod, bottled water ONLY), w/o shower... if you can have REAL room for the same price? Or even less. Like "Vickie's Bed & Breakfast" (I don't have ANY connection with Vickie's Bed & Breakfast, just found the place on Google while doing research for other motels/hotels) for $63, with shower and with breakfast, and, probably, with access to kitchen (microwave at least) for snack or something... Or "Orchid House by Elevate Rooms" (no connections to these either) for $67. Even Quality Hotel Airport for $96 sounds better...
ONLY way I would us the Panda Pod is if I'm passing by the town and it cost no more than $20. And the weight limitation is 300 lb, of course... :D
My 2 cents...
