Memory Lane Cottages

Memory Lane Cottages offers heritage-style bed and breakfast accommodation in central Hobart. Memory Lane Cottages are located in Brisbane Street, a short walk from the central business district. Built from handmade bricks in 1890, these conjoined cottages are heritage-listed and decorated in period style with antiques and colonial memorabilia. A steep staircase leads to attic bedrooms with dormer windows. Both cottages have a double and twin bedroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, and laundry facilities. The lounge rooms have open log fires and there is also electric heating. Breakfast is provided to guests, and parking is off-street just at the front door ! Hobart is Australia's second oldest city, and more than 90 of its buildings are classified by the National Trust. You can choose from a number of guided walking tours to see beautifully preserved historic homes and public buildings, including Salamanca Place, the Royal Tennis Courts, tiny Battery Point whalers' cottages and the Cascade Brewery. There are also a number of larger historic churches, including St Mary's Cathedral, next door to the cottages, St David's Cathedral in the centre of Hobart and St Georges Church in Battery Point
